I am an Associate Professor and Director of Health Studies at Haverford College. I received my PhD in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my BA in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. I was previously a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Illinois School of Medicine and an Associate Professor Sociology at Drexel University. My first book, Feeling Medicine: How the Pelvic Exam Shapes Medical Training, is now available from NYU Press.
I currently live in Philadelphia, where I enjoy exploring the city, Olympic weightlifting, and traveling.
