About

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Drexel University. I received my PhD in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my BA in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. I was previously a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Illinois School of Medicine. My first book, Feeling Medicine: How the Pelvic Exam Shapes Medical Training, is now available from NYU Press.

I currently live in Philadelphia, where I enjoy competitive powerlifting, exploring the city, and traveling.
